So, what is God’s Story? It’s the story of creation, covenant, and salvation. But, most of all, it’s the story of Jesus Christ.

Joyful—even when you don’t feel happy?

Hopeful—even when things seem hopeless?

Peaceful—even when your world is falling apart?

Forgiven—even when you know you are guilty?

This is what Jesus Christ offers—a joyful, hopeful, peaceful, forgiven life here on earth and eternal life with God when we die. And here is the GOOD NEWS—this amazing life is a gift. You don’t have to earn it—just say YES!

We know what you may be thinking.  And the Bible has answers to your questions.

I’m not a bad person—why do I need Jesus?

Because ALL people—even “good” people—have sinned and are not good enough for God’s glory. Romans 3:23

OK, I’ve made mistakes.  So why does God offer this life to me?

Because God loves you.  This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son.  And this is why: so that no one has be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. John 3:16

There must be a catch.  What do I have to do to get this amazing life?

You don’t “do” anything; you simply call out to God, trusting him to do it for you.  That’s salvation. And that’s amazing grace.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from death, then you will be saved. Romans 10:9

I want to follow Jesus. How do I begin? Pray this prayer.

You are the one true God.

You created me and have loved me throughout my life. You loved me enough to send your own son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross and then be raised from the dead. I ask your forgiveness for the ways I have rejected you and hurt others.

I want to return your love, follow Jesus, and share your love with others.

I want to serve you and always know your presence.

I give myself to you.


So what now?  How does this change my life?

You will find out if you:

Read the Bible—God’s story, the story of Jesus.  It’s written to teach us about God and about how to live as a Christ-follower.  Visit BOOKS for a great place to start.

Pray every day.  Prayer is just talking with God—talking to him and listening for him to talk to you.  Say what is on your heart—your joys, your hurts, your needs, your desires.

Find other Christians.  Meet with them to study the Bible, pray, and encourage each other.  Visit local churches until you find one where everything they teach is about Jesus and from the Bible--a place where you feel at home.  Then attend regularly.  Join a Bible study. Visit YOUR LIFE to see ways you can connect with other Christians through HSM.
